Charter Catamaran Fleet — Standardised Galley Package

An Aegean charter company operating 8 fifty-foot catamarans. Eight boats, eight different galley configurations, eight different parts lists, eight different failure modes. The maintenance team was spending as much time managing parts and training as they were doing actual servicing.

We visited all 8 vessels on the water, measured every galley space, and documented the existing equipment and infrastructure. The galley sizes and layouts varied slightly between hulls — the package had to work in all of them without custom modifications to each.

The standard package we designed consists of a Dometic MagicChef marine induction cooktop, an Eno Ocean 2 compact marine oven, a custom-fabricated 316L stainless steel dual-basin sink sized to fit the common counter profile across all hulls, and an Isotherm Classic 12V/24V DC refrigerator. Every component is marine-certified, widely available for parts, and straightforward to service.

The rollout across all 8 catamarans took place over two consecutive winter seasons. Spare parts inventory costs dropped by approximately 70% — one parts list for 8 boats instead of 8. Crew training time reduced substantially. And for the first time, the company's charter guests had a consistent galley experience regardless of which vessel they boarded.
