A superyacht galley system is the complete professional kitchen installation aboard a luxury motor or sailing yacht. It includes marine-rated cooking appliances (induction hobs, combination ovens, grills), refrigeration and freezer units, dishwashing equipment, 316L stainless steel cabinetry and counters, ventilation, fire suppression, and all associated plumbing and electrical connections. Unlike shore-side kitchens, marine galleys must withstand constant vessel motion, salt-air corrosion, and stringent SOLAS and flag-state safety requirements.

For a superyacht carrying 8–12 guests and 10–15 crew, a typical laundry room includes: two 11–14 kg front-loading washers, two matching heated dryers, a cylinder mangle for sheets and tablecloths, a steam ironing station, and a drying cabinet for delicates. All machines are mounted on anti-vibration isolators and secured with stainless steel deck frames. For larger charter yachts or commercial vessels, we scale up to 24–30 kg industrial units.

316L (the low-carbon variant of Type 316) contains 2–3% molybdenum, which dramatically increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It is the internationally accepted standard for exposed marine fittings, galley countertops, sink units, and deck hardware. Vista Marine uses only certified 316L sheet, tube, and bar stock sourced from accredited mills, with full material traceability documentation for classification purposes.

Timeline depends on vessel size and scope. A typical galley refit for a 30–50 m superyacht — including appliance removal, custom fabrication, re-piping, electrical work, and commissioning — is completed in 4–8 weeks. Larger vessels (50–80 m) with full galley and laundry refits typically require 8–14 weeks. Vista Marine provides a detailed Gantt chart at the start of each project and assigns a project manager to coordinate with the shipyard, captain, and owner's representative throughout.

Annual service contracts are available for charter fleets and commercial operators.

For new-build projects, Vista Marine coordinates with the shipyard's technical team from the design phase. We prepare full technical specifications, electrical load plans, and fabrication drawings for galley and laundry systems to DNV, Lloyd's Register, or Bureau Veritas requirements. Fabrication and installation proceed to the shipyard's build schedule.

316L stainless steel contains 2–3% molybdenum, providing dramatically higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments compared to 304-grade. Vista Marine uses only AISI 316L material, TIG-welded under argon gas shielding, and passivated for maximum corrosion resistance. 304-grade is not recommended for any marine application in direct contact with salt air or seawater.
