52m Superyacht — Galley & Laundry Transformation

A new owner acquired a 52-metre motor superyacht with the intention of putting her into high-end charter. The vessel was 25 years old and both the galley and laundry rooms were original — functional, but nowhere near what charter guests or a professional charter management company would expect.

We were brought in alongside the interior designer from the start of the refit, which made a significant difference. Rather than inheriting a finished interior and working around it, we were able to plan the galley layout properly: workflow, drainage falls, ventilation, equipment clearances. The result is a galley that actually functions like a professional kitchen, not one that was retrofitted into a luxury space.

The cooking suite is built around Zanussi Professional induction hobs, a Rational SCC WE 61 combination oven, and an Electrolux Professional grill. Refrigeration is twin Liebherr freestanding units — reliable, quiet, and easy to service anywhere in the Mediterranean. A Winterhalter undercounter dishwasher completes the galley.

The laundry room received twin Miele PW 6180 18 kg washers and matching PT 8503 HP heat-pump dryers, both on custom 316L anti-vibration bases. Heat-pump drying eliminates the hot air exhaust that makes laundry rooms unbearable in summer and puts less heat load on the vessel's air conditioning.

The vessel was commissioned and delivered on time. She went directly into charter and ran at 100% occupancy through her first full season. Annual energy savings from the new equipment come to approximately 12,000 kWh.
