1,200-Pax Cruise Liner — Laundry & Galley Supply

The brief was demanding from day one: a 1,200-passenger Mediterranean cruise vessel, continuous operation, zero tolerance for downtime. Not the kind of project where you can troubleshoot on the fly.

We spent 18 months on engineering and planning before a single piece of equipment was ordered. Electrical load calculations, ventilation routing, plumbing schematics, redundancy planning — everything was worked out in full detail so that when the 21-day maintenance window opened, we could execute without surprises.

The laundry system consists of six Primus FX 520 industrial washers (50 kg each), six Primus T 50 dryers, and three 200 cm Chicago Dryer cylinder mangles. Total installed power: 240 kW. Daily processing capacity exceeds 4,000 kg — enough to handle full linen turnaround for all passenger cabins and crew areas simultaneously.

For the galley, we installed an Electrolux Professional 900XP induction cooking suite, a Rational iCombi Pro combination oven, and a Winterhalter PT-XL tunnel dishwashing system — the industrial throughput version, sized for 1,200 covers per service.

Installation completed two days ahead of schedule. During the vessel's first full Mediterranean season, 22,000 passengers were served with zero system interruptions. Energy consumption across laundry and galley dropped 36% compared to the previous equipment.
