48m Motor Yacht — Pool Surround & Deck Fittings

A 48-metre motor yacht undergoing refit at an Antalya shipyard. The pool surround and aft deck drainage fittings needed full replacement — years of combined salt water and pool chemicals had taken them past restoration.

The problem with pool areas on yachts is that standard catalogue fittings rarely fit the actual geometry of the deck, and when they don't fit precisely, water finds its way where it shouldn't. The solution is custom manufacture to the actual measurements of the deck.

We took full dimensional surveys of the pool surround and drainage channels, then designed and manufactured 24 individual components: embedded deck drain strainers, stainless flanges, channel cover plates, pool step edge profiles, and associated fastening hardware. Every component was modelled before cutting to verify fit within ±1 mm tolerance.

All components are AISI 316L. We CNC plasma-cut the flat stock, TIG-welded all joints using argon gas shielding for clean, oxide-free welds, then electropolished and passivated every finished piece. Electropolishing goes further than mechanical polishing — it removes the surface layer microscopically, eliminating the micro-crevices where corrosion initiates.

Every component was test-fitted on a mock-up before shipment to confirm assembly sequence. When we installed at the shipyard, everything went in without modifications. The shipyard's technical supervisor commented on the surface quality before the leak tests had even started.
