45m Charter Gulet — Twin Washer & Cylinder Mangle

A 45-metre wooden gulet running weekly charter itineraries out of Bodrum. Every Friday or Saturday, the boat ties up, the guests leave, the sheets and towels come off, and new guests board. That turnaround is typically 4–6 hours. The laundry has to be completely done within that window.

The previous setup — a single domestic-spec machine in a cramped below-deck space — couldn't manage the volume. The operator was either sending linen ashore (cost, delays, quality issues) or launching the next charter week with wet linen still in the machines.

We redesigned the below-deck layout. The space was tight but workable: by repositioning the water heater and reorganising the pipe runs, we created enough floor area for two Primus industrial washing machines and an Electrolux cylinder mangle in a side-by-side configuration that still left the operator enough room to work.

Both Primus machines run independently with inverter motors, so you can run a heavy cotton cycle on one and a delicate cycle on the other simultaneously. The Electrolux cylinder mangle handles flat linen — sheets, tablecloths, napkins — finishing them pressed and ready to fold in a single pass. A custom stainless steel wastewater drainage run was fabricated and installed to handle the combined discharge properly.

The operator now handles the full weekly linen turnaround in-house, within the port stop window, without external laundry involvement.
